I enjoy making ceramic ware for the outdoor environment. My work ranges from individual planters large and small, to tall decorative pieces. All work produced to be situated outside is completely weatherproof, as it is fired to stoneware temperatures up to 1260°C.
Hand-building techniques such as coiling and slab building are used and give almost unlimited freedom to any shapes and designs I want to create. Ideas have come from formations of colour and texture found within rugged landscapes, to detailed photographs taken of galaxies the planets and their surfaces.
I don’t want to copy what I see, completed designs are aspects of different themes mixed together to produce something totally different.
